A Simple Step-by-Step Visualisation Practice

Visualisation can be a helpful way to settle the mind and gently focus your intention. When we create calm inner imagery, the nervous system often responds by softening, allowing clarity and steadiness to emerge.

Here is a simple way to begin:

Find a quiet space
Choose somewhere comfortable where you can sit undisturbed for a few minutes.

Relax your body
Close your eyes and take slow, steady breaths.
Inhale through your nose to a count of five.
Exhale gently through your mouth to a count of five.
Continue until your body begins to soften and your thoughts slow.

Create your inner image
Bring to mind a situation, feeling, or outcome you would like to move toward.
Allow the image to form gently. Notice colours, light, sounds, or atmosphere.
Rather than forcing detail, simply let the scene feel calm and supportive.

Notice how it feels
Shift your awareness to the feeling within your body.
Perhaps you notice steadiness, ease, warmth, or clarity.
Allow that feeling to settle naturally.

Remain here for as long as feels comfortable.
When you are ready, gently open your eyes.

A Helpful Perspective

Visualisation is not about forcing reality to change. It is about creating internal alignment and emotional steadiness. Over time, this can help you respond to life with greater clarity and confidence.

With practice, the process becomes easier and more natural.

When to Practice

Many people find it helpful:

• In the morning, before the day begins
• In the evening, as the mind begins to quiet
